AFL-CIO Looking for Researchers

Publisher Name:

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am writing to let you know about exciting opportunities for new and seasoned researchers to become campaign researchers in the labor movement.

Would you please pass this information on to your students, friends, and colleagues?

Application information for these opportunities may be found at:

Campaign researchers investigate issues, analyze data, and help develop strategies as part of union organizing campaigns. Current job openings range from entry to senior levels and involve a wide range of applied field research activities in fast-paced campaign environments with different unions across the country.

Current openings are Chicago, Cleveland, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Oakland, Pittsburgh, and Seattle. These locations will change as positions are filled and new ones open up. We have an ongoing recruitment effort because there are more than a dozen new positions in different locations open at any given time (so this listing of cities will change).

To fill these job openings, we are looking for new and seasoned activist-researchers: recent college grads, grad students, and professionals with skills in economic and industry analysis, legal/regulatory research, or investigative journalism; people with backgrounds in organizing, community activism, or political campaigns; and people with a strong commitment to working in the labor movement. People of color and women are encouraged to apply. Applications may only be made by email; please read the "how to apply" section on our website at

We are also keeping a database of individuals with research skills who would be available for short-term contract work.

Thank you so much for your time and attention. I would be most grateful if you would forward this information on to people you think might be interested.
