Editor/Radio Producer

The Editor/ Radio producer will develop investigative
written, radio, and visual content for CorpWatch, while ensuring the accuracy
of all materials.

 

Responsibilities

§  

Lead editorial discussions about the focus,
scope, and content of the CorpWatch website and radio production, including
developing editorial and related time-lines, processes and work plans

§  

Supervise the editing of publications on the
Internet, radio and in print, written materials that address the underlying
social, environmental and economic impacts of the global economy in
collaboration with the editorial staff

§  

Develop/solicit weekly investigative/feature
stories and produce radio segments. Work with freelancers and staff reporters
(eventually) to edit them for accuracy, regional and issue balance, context,
color, flow, and quotes

§  

Conduct research when necessary to ensure that
facts presented are accurate according to journalistic standards.

§  

Work with cartoonist/graphic designers to
provide images for the website

§  

Identify related websites and online resources
that can be linked to the CorpWatch website such as news items and actions in
collaboration with administrative coordinator and interns

§  

Hire and train reporters and freelancers


Qualifications

§  

At least ten years of news media work such as
reporting, radio/video production. editing, especially in the areas of
corporate accountability and globalization

§  

At least two years of news or feature editing experience,
especially in the areas of corporate accountability and globalization

§  

Familiarity with web production highly preferred but not
required (training will be provided)

§  

A desire to expand and improve our website

§  

Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced
environment

§  

Demonstrated commitment to social justice

 


Excellent
benefits. Salary 40-50K, DOE.
