Pratap Chatterjee, Executive Director

Pratap is an investigative journalist and producer. He is the author of "Verax: The True History of Whistleblowers, Drone Warfare, and Mass Surveillance" (Macmillan, 2017) "Halliburton's Army" (Nation Books, 2009) "Iraq Inc.: A Profitable Occupation" (Seven Stories Press, 2004) and "The Earth Brokers" (Routledge Press, 1994).

He has many years of experience working in radio, print and digital media, including hosting a weekly radio show on Berkeley station KPFA, working as global environment editor for Inter Press Service. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Financial Times, the Guardian and the Independent of London.

He has won awards from the National Newspaper Association (U.S.), the Overseas Press Club, Project Censored and the National Federation of Community Broadcasters (U.S.), among others. He has also appeared as a commentator on numerous radio and television shows ranging from BBC World Service, CNN International, Democracy Now!, Fox and MSNBC.

Pratap serves on the board of Corporate Europe Observatory and Shadow World Investigations. Previously he served on the boards of Amnesty International USA and the Asian Pacific Environmental Network in Oakland, CA.

Tyler Fox (senior researcher) Tyler is in charge of research for Gulliver, our new database of global corporate wrongdoing. He holds an undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University, and he lives in Santa Barbara, CA, where he grew up. Previously Tyler worked as a fundraiser for Dialogue Direct - Children International both in office and on the streets of San Francisco. He is currently also working on his Masters degree in International Studies - Human Rights at the University of San Francisco.

Elena Rogozenska (researcher) Elena completed her Masters in International Relations at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada, and previously volunteered for Hull Services where she mentored youth.

Aimee Swaine (2024 intern)

Aimee completed a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations at the University of Limerick, with a thesis on the link between natural resource abundance and civil conflict. She works in the environmental conservation space and founded the online media platform "A World For Life."

Esmé Graziani (2024 intern)

Esmé is currently pursuing a Master’s in Human Rights and Politics at the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on economic self-determination in Western Sahara through the lens of anti-colonial and anti-capitalist resistance. She has worked in the non-profit space for a number of years, most recently at Sandblast Arts in London, Middle East Children’s Alliance in the San Francisco Bay Area, and Spheres of Influence in Vancouver.

Ana de Boer (2024 intern)

Ana completed her Bachelor of Science in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands, writing her thesis in settler-colonialism studies. Born in Boston, she grew up in Amsterdam. Ana fights for Dutch universities to cut ties with institutions complicit in the oppression of Palestinians.

Terry J. Allen (editor)

Terry is a veteran investigative journalist. An editor for CorpWatch since 2003, Terry brings extensive experience. She is a senior editor at In These Times, and previously edited Amnesty International's US magazine. More recently, Terry's work has expanded into film notes and research, working on such films as Academy Award winner Fahrenheit 911 and Sundance documentary grand prize winner "Trouble the Water." Her reporting has appeared in Harper's, The Nation online, New Scientist, the Boston Globe and other publications.

Khalil Bendib (cartoonist)

Khalil is an award-winning political cartoonist based in Berkeley whose work is distributed to 1,500 small and mid-sized newspapers weekly. His cartoons are also featured in dozens of ethnic and progressive print and on-line publications across the USA and Canada. Born under a French colonial regime, Khalil brings a fresh, non-Eurocentric perspective that is mostly absent from US corporate media. His hard-hitting, quixotic cartoons don't shy away from lancing the taboos of Free-Market fundamentalism. In the proud tradition of watchdog journalism, Khalil's work aims to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable and give a voice to the voiceless underdog.

RECENT INTERNS & STAFF

Paula Reisdorf (senior researcher and social media coordinator 2022-2024, 2021 intern)

Paula is the founder of the decolonial online platform Sankara Media and previously worked at the Brazilian Center for International Relations. She has a Master's in Global Political Economy from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Anthropology and Arabic from the University of Cape Town.

Elisa Emch (2022 intern)

Elisa completed her Master of Arts in International Relations at Leiden University in the Netherlands, focusing on the militarisation of the global economy and war profiteering. She is the founder of the Decolonise Your Mind Project, an online youth-led media platform, and has previously volunteered for Amnesty and Human Rights Watch in Geneva, Switzerland. She lives in Andalusia, Spain.

Victoria Thi Gai Westphalen (2021 intern)

Victoria completed her undergraduate degree in Geography from King’s College in London. Born in Vietnam, she grew up in Hamburg and the UK. She volunteers for SolidariTee and is involved in her university's Lawyers Without Borders Student Division.

Dipa Mardemootoo (2020-2021 intern)

Dipa grew up on the island of Mauritius and has just completed her Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies at the University of California at Santa Cruz. She previously interned at the Santa Cruz Business Council as well as the Santa Cruz City County Taskforce to Address UCSC’s Growth Plan. Dipa aims to attend Law School in the near future to pursue her passion in human rights and social justice. 

Tanya Mahadwar (2020 intern)

Tanya Mahadwar is a fourth-year undergraduate completing her studies in Political Science and Conservation and Resource Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. Before her time at CorpWatch, Tanya served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the Human Rights Center at the UC Berkeley School of Law where she conducted research on Indigenous communities and corporate environmental pollution. She has also served as President of the Berkeley Forum and as a Public Policy Intern for San Francisco Supervisor Hillary Ronen. 

Michelle Lee (2020 intern)

Michelle is a sophomore at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, majoring in Environmental Studies. She was China project team leader for Sustainability Without Borders of Ann Arbor, MI, where she helped develop plans for waste management in pig farms in rural China. Previously Michelle was a conservation intern for Walnut Creek Saves and a volunteer for Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek, CA.

Chloe Dillon (2020 intern)

Chloe is a rising senior at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, majoring in Feminist and Gender Studies. She is the Alumni Outreach Call Center Manager at her college. Previously she interned at Street Sense Newspaper in Washington, DC, and abroad at Heppie Seks in The Netherlands and World Wildlife Fund in Bhutan respectively.

Charlie Cray, Senior Research Specialist, Greenpeace USA, Washington, DC

Charlie Cray is a senior research specialist at Greenpeace USA. He co-authored The People’s Business: Controlling Corporations and Restoring Democracy (Berrett-Koehler, 2003). 

From 2004 to 2010, Charlie directed the Center for Corporate Policy in Washington DC. Prior to that he helped edit Multinational Monitor magazine and directed the Campaign for Corporate Reform at Citizen Works. Between 1989 and 1999, Charlie was a member of the Greenpeace Toxics Campaign, organizing campaigns to shut down toxic waste incinerators and phase out PVC plastics. He also co-founded the watchdog web site, HalliburtonWatch.org. 

Allen Gunn, Executive Director of Aspiration, San Francisco, CA

Allen Gunn (Gunner) is Executive Director of Aspiration, an organization that works to help NGOs, activists, foundations and software developers make more effective use of technology for social change. 

Gunner is an active facilitator, contributor, advisor, and/or partner in a number of open projects, including Mozilla, The Tor Project, Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, Peer 2 Peer University, Joomla!, CiviCRM, and Creative Commons. He is a board member of The Ruckus Society and Global Exchange. He also sits on the eIFL-FOSS, GIIP, and the Rosetta Foundation Advisory Boards. 

He has served as senior software engineer at firms including Novell, NetManage, and a number of startups, and has shepherded large software projects through all stages of development: from inception, design, engineering, and testing to deployment, support and marketing in environments ranging from start-up to large corporation to nonprofit. 

Anuradha Mittal, Executive Director, Oakland Institute, Oakland, CA

Anuradha Mittal, founder and executive director of the Oakland Institute, is an expert on trade, development, human rights and agriculture issues. She has authored and edited numerous books and reports including (Mis)Investment in Agriculture: The Role of the International Finance Corporation in the Global Land Grab; Voices from Africa: African Farmers and Environmentalists Speak out Against a New Green Revolution; Sahel: A Prisoner of Starvation; Going Gray in the Golden State: The Reality of Poverty Among Seniors in Oakland, California; and Turning the Tide: Challenging the Right on Campus; America Needs Human Rights.

Anuradha is on the board and advisory committees of several non profit organizations including the Right Livelihood Award (also known as the Alternative Nobel Prize), the International Forum on Globalization, and is a member of the independent board of Ben & Jerry's. She was named as the Most Valuable Thinker in 2008 by the Nation magazine.
